April 21st, 2020 - ALPA’s team - Accueil Liaison pour Arrivants- is proud to announce the nomination of Alia Hassan-Cournol as the new executive director. Each year ALPA and its specialized team assist around 4,000 immigrants. The organisation offers a wide range of integration, francisation and employment assistance custom-made services so that all immigrants achieve a successful integration and thrive in the welcoming country.
‘’Thanks to its 30 years of existence, ALPA knows how to keep the innovation going, whether the focus is on the immigrants or on the employers. We are glad to give Alia Hassan-Cournol the hold of the executive management, and we are also confident that her leadership and energy will give a new boost to the organization’’, said Simon Denault, ALPA’s Chairman of the Board of Directors.
While putting human beings at the heart of her concerns, Alia Hassan-Cournol will pursue the promotion and the growth of the organization. Immigrants’ reality is constantly changing, as well as does the socioeconomic context. It is then imperative for the new executive director to seal strategic partnerships and to engage in a numeric shift.

I’m glad to be able to contribute and to promote the French language, inclusion and diversity as well as putting my energy to the service of immigrants. I know I can count on the team, the 32 professionals who work with me to build ALPA as a key player in Québec’’, claimed Alia Hassan-Cournol, after she got nominated.
French and Egyptian by origin, Alia Hassan-Cournol has been living in Quebec since the late 2000. As a political scientist, she specialized in immigration issues and migratory policies. She exercised as a counselor and political strategist of the Mayor of Montreal and the City’s elected officials. She built a very valuable experience in crisis management and public policies. With her 10 years experience in public affairs and communication, she has always put her experience to the benefit of social changes by developing parternship strategies in numerous ecosystems.
